UPCOMING 70th Festival de Cannes 2017 Short Film Corner

On the way to the 70th Festival de Cannes 2017 Short Film Corner (SFC), this blogger stopped in New York City to witness Woodie King, Jr.’s New Federal Theatre 2017 Playwriting Workshop Presentation (pictured) coordinated by Ajene D. Washington. Also, while in the Big Apple, I attended the Bad Film Festival's New York debuts of my short films “The Nostalgia Inn” and “Oops!”.

Applying a very broad definition of same, at Cannes 2017, all screened Black short films will be Reported upon.

Your blogger will additionally Report on Black participation in live Cannes events including the SFC: Wednesday CONFERENCE with Cinefondation & Shorts Jury President Cristian Mungiu and Thursday’s HELPING HAND DISTRIBUTION - Coup de Pounce led by Autour du theme de la DISTRIBUTION’s Marcin Luczaj of New Europe Film Sales plus Friday’s BREAKFAST with Inga Diev (Ouat Media) – Sarah McIntosh (Cambridge Film Festival) – Josep Prim (Marvin&Wayne) – Ana Catala (Reykjavik Film Festival) – Louisa Taabni (Shortcuts) – Kasia Karwan (The Moonshot Company) – Grégory Audermatte (ARTE France) – David Guiraud (AdAstra Films) – Jason Anderson (TIFF) – Sari Volanen (YLE – Finnish Broadcasting Company) – Pascale Faure (Canal+) – Paola Ruggeri (Mediaset Premium Channels) – Quentin Carbonell (MUBI).

Further, this author originally anticipated that few of the Blog’s lengthy articles would cover a Reported festival’s logistics. However, my prediction was clearly in error since the Report’s very first lengthy article covered logistics of the Las Vegas Black Film Festival Actors SHOWDOWN Competition. Finally, I currently anticipate that the Blog’s second lengthy entry will explore Black participation logistics of the Festival de Cannes 16th annual Short Film Corner.

So, please subscribe! That way you will be notified of the June 2017 Black Film Festival Report publishings. Next month I will cover this, the World’s premiere film festival.
