Entry Level Acting in LA
REVIEWS
I am pleased to be in a capacity where I can now advise current and future students to rush and buy your book before they rush off for the bright lights of Hollywood! So, here my brother, is a written review of your work:
“Timely and right on the mark! Phillip E. Walker's Entry Level Acting in LA 2016 is a must read, must have practical handbook. I highly recommend this text to anyone young or old who is about to begin their journey of navigating the Hollywood landscape. It is a Workbook that I wish had been in place when I not only began my journey right out of college but one that would have helped me make the transition from the theatre stages of New York City to the backlots of Hollywood. There is something of great value here to anyone who is making their entry into LA to pursue a professional career, no matter the degree of their acting status. PhilE is not a theorist but someone who is living and working with his own manual to guide his path through the ins and outs of Hollywood! As a professor of theatre and a pro actor/director this title, Entry Level Acting in LA 2016, will be the final bit of knowledge that I will pass on to my students before they graduate and head for LA. It should be the first thing they pack! Thank you Phillip for making the journey easier or at least more understandable!"

Breaking into, and sustaining a career in the entertainment industry can be a daunting task. The dream of making it big in Hollywood can easily become a nightmare. Many come to the big city, expecting to be discovered, only to find that they have no idea what to do once they arrive.
Finally, we have a guide for those who are serious about working hard to be successful in this Industry. Phillip E. Walker has walked the walk. Plus, he has taken notes along the way. In this Workbook, he answers a whole spectrum of questions that one would not even know to ask. Mr. Walker meticulously gathered information as he set out on a trial and error mission to build his career. With a keen eye, a brilliant mind, and the will to achieve his goals, he has comprised a how-to-book that is not only useful, but, dare I say, necessary. The information contained in this manual is invaluable to the entry level actor.
The business of entertainment is just that... a business. This handbook breaks down the components of the actor's side of The Business. It also gives insight into the jobs of those who have authority over the career of the actor.
Understanding how The Business works is imperative for being successful. Sure, there are the lucky few that just happen to be in the right place at the right time, but unless you're that one-in-a-million, knowledge is a must. Unfortunately, there is no sure fire guarantee that you'll be a star, but the information contained in this E-book can get you on track to a wonderful career.
I've worked in this Business for several years. When I'm not shooting a commercial, film or other project, I do background work. I met this author on the set of the HBO-TV series Shameless-Southside Rules episode. We were both working as extras. There, he ended up being featured, thereby blocking your ability to see me (LOL). Riding home to the Inland Empire together after that gig, we became fast friends.
Subsequently, I soon became intrigued with Walker’s work ethic and drive to succeed. He had a lot of questions. He also had some very useful suggestions. While he tells me that I helped him with some of my advice, I have to admit that I have learned a lot from him.
There is information in this publication that I have already started implementing. The outcome has been amazing. By following his structured guidelines, I have increased my earnings as well as found ways to open more doors to opportunities.
As you read, apply Phillip E. Walker's guide to your career. Success requires a lot of hard work. Your use of this trade book will be an asset.

BIO
Phillip E. Walker has more than a half century of experience in The Industry. Fortunate enough to have never accepted a full-time job outside of entertainment since graduating college, that Loyola University of Chicago renaissance man training helped Phillip Eugene build a diverse arts career including: multiple university theatre professorships throughout America such as chairing the Fisk University Speech & Drama Department; several arts administration positions such as the first ever California Arts Council Arts Touring Coordinator; creator/leader of more than ten (10) youth summer arts camps including www.SummerCampCalifornia.com; plus full-time stints with several theatre companies such as collective membership in the TONY Award winning San Francisco Mime Troupe. With more than four (400) hundred live theatrical productions under his belt, Phillip has also directed many plays.
Blessed with having had the best parents in the world, Walker was taught to be a "professional traveler". Among the fruits of that upbringing was his becoming founding Artistic Director of the African American Drama Company, a Black History theatre now in its 41st season which has performed at least twice in every United State.
Married to Dr. Ethel Pitts Walker, the Walker's only son, Tesla Executive Travis Donnell Walker and his wife Angela DePiano Walker, have given birth to their only daughter together - Aliah Janae Walker. With his first book Can I Speak For You Brother? still being That New Publishing Company’s highest selling title, Entry Level Acting in LA 2016 is Mr. Walker’s second book.
